Vietnam: E-cigarettes to be Banned Starting from 2025!
The Vietnamese National Assembly has passed a resolution to fully ban the production, trade, import, storage, transportation, and use of e-cigarettes and heated tobacco products starting from 2025, in order to protect public health. This move aims to raise awareness among the public, especially young people, about the dangers of e-cigarettes, as these products contain nicotine and various toxic compounds that can lead to addiction and serious health issues.
Additionally, the government has been urged to accelerate the implementation of the pharmaceutical industry development strategy, strictly crack down on false advertising of functional foods, and enhance the regulation of drugs, cosmetics, and functional foods on e-commerce platforms and social networks. The government is also tasked with studying revisions to the Press Law to improve news quality, reform the financial mechanisms of news agencies, and strengthen cooperation with cross-border platforms to ensure compliance with Vietnamese laws and strictly handle advertising violations.
